AOL Teams Up With BellSouth for DSL Service
America Online is teaming up with BellSouth to offer access to the AOL network and services through BellSouth digital subscriber line (DSL) service.
The monthly cost will be $29.95.
AOL also said it would work with Time Warner Cable for cable Internet access, as well as Verizon and other DSL suppliers. The cost could be as low as $25.90, AOL said.
"We are taking advantage of the improving economics of broadband access to create an offering that combines the AOL service with the speed of broadband at a competitive price,” said Jonathan Miller, chairman and chief executive officer of America Online. “In so doing, we're building a better experience for our members, bringing new subscribers to our network partners, and enhancing the lifetime member value of our customer relationships."
